Christine Laaban, Owner and Designer of the company, created BABYLONE in Paris in 1986. After having worked as a PR person for some of the trendiest Maisons de Couture back in the 80s (Cacharel, Pierre dAlby, Pablo & Delia), Christine decided to launch her own costume jewelry brand.
The adventure started in February 1986 in the Marais area in Paris. Very shortly after the creation of Babylone, Christine went back to the fashion world but this time as a designer, accessorizing catwalks, clothing lines. Thus started a long collaborative work with various prestigious French designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier which proved to be a very fruitful partnership, Paco Rabanne and Rochas.
To this day, BABYLONE still manufactures 100% of its lines within the Parisian studio located in Le Marais area in Paris which is the perfect home for such a studio as it offers a vibrant energy always full of freshness and ideas.
The BABYLONE team is almost totally composed with women passionate about their work and ready to make the best out of each day.
The BABYLONE style evolved with time but Christine Laaban managed to keep true to her inspiration and to what defined the brand in the beginning. The BABYLONE touch is present in everyone of its lines. Glamour, chic, Parisian and laidback are some of the ingredients that one can find in themes such as La Vie en Rose, Rive Gauche, Boudoir, Bohemian Rhapsody, Nolita, Paris-Paris, Dona Flor, French Riviera, Capri, Rebellion etc.
Today, the brand is 26 year-old and celebrates its 26th anniversary.

OKINAWA TOUCH
BABYLONE starts its first collection with the precious lacquerware from the island of Okinawa, Japan.
2008
BABYLONE is distributed in China and is sold in some Chinese select shops.
2009
PREMIERE CLASSE CELEBRATES ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY
BABYLONE is proud to be a part of it since the first show in 1989.
The Chinese press writes a book called "Dialogue with top Designers" in which Christine Laaban is present for BABYLONE along with other famous French designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Lacroix, etc.
